One dead, 45 injured in Jallikattu

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 18 (UNI) A 24-year-old man was gored to death and 45 people, including bull tamers, spectators and a police man were injured in the annual ‘Jallikattu’ event held at Navalur Kuttapattu village here on Tuesday.

Police said the deceased was identified as Vinodkumar He sustained grievous injuries in his abdomen when a ferocious bull unleashed from the “Vaadivasal” (a narrow entrance through which the bulls were released one after the other into the arena) attacked him at the bull collection point.
