UP: Man gets lifer for murder in Bahraich

Bahraich (UP), Apr 24 (UNI) A murder accused was sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 20,000 by a court in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, prosecution sources said here.
Sources said that on April 26, 2020, Sundar Lal, a resident of village Sohni Balaigaon, attacked the residence of the plaintiff Ashiya in an inebriated state. "When the plaintiff's son Pawan Kumar tried to stop him, the accused attacked him on neck with a knife and seriously injured him, who later died," they said.
Prosecution sources said that after investigation on the basis of evidence and testimonies, a charge sheet was filed against the accused on May 13, 2020 under other related sections including murder.
