UP: Five of family die, 8 injured as car collides with truck

Balrampur (UP), May 15 (UNI) Five members of a family, including a child, were killed and eight others were injured when a car collided with a truck in the Kotwali Dehat area of Balrampur district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Thursday.
Police sources said that Pintu Kumar was returning from a town under the Itiyathok police station area with his family in a car after attending the wedding ceremony at his sister's place in Bhaluhi Virpur village of Shravasti district.
"As soon as the car reached near the Chakwa police post of the Dehat Kotwali area of Balrampur district, it collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction," they said.
Police sources said that Ajay Kumar (35), Phool Babu (35), Vijay Kumar (40), Shiv Kumar (22) and Aditya (8) died on the spot, while eight other people were injured.
"All the bodies have been removed from the damaged car. The injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital," they said.
