UP: 4 killed as loaded truck overturns on ambulance

Nirzapur (UP), Apr 26 (UNI) Four persons, including a pregnant woman and her mother, were killed when a truck loaded with gravel overturned on the ambulance near Chhato in Ahraura area of Mirzapur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, a police officer said here.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manjari Rao said that on Saturday afternoon, Surajbali Kharwar (26), Hiravati Devi (25), residents of Kanhara village under Obra police station area, Malti Devi (45), a resident of Jugail Kothi, her husband Kaushal and relative Suraj were going to a hospital in Varanasi for the delivery of pregnant Hiravati.
He said that near Chhato Trimohani village on the Varanasi-Sonbhadra highway the truck loaded with gravel lost balance and overturned on the ambulance. "The police, who arrived after getting information from the local people, somehow managed to take everyone out with the help of a crane and cutter and took them to the primary health centre where doctors declared Suraj, Hiravati Devi, Malti and ambulance driver Ramu dead," he said.
