Gonda (UP), May 16 (UNI) In view of the arrival of the H-5 Avian Influenza Virus (Bird Flu) in Uttar Pradesh, special vigilance is being exercised on the India-Nepal border of the Devipatan division and samples of poultry products are being taken by running a campaign in the border areas, a health official said here on Friday.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Mukesh Kumar said that the Shravasti, Bahraich and Balrampur districts of the division are adjacent to the Nepal border.
"In view of the import-export of poultry products sold through poultry farms, chicken farms and other means operating in the areas adjoining the open 243 km Nepal border of the three districts, all the farm owners are being given clear warning about the possibility of bird flu, and information is being given regarding the deadly disease found in birds," he said.
