SC asks Army man who participated in Operation Sindoor to surrender in dowry death case

New Delhi, June 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court has directed an Army commando, who had participated in the recent Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, to surrender within two weeks in a dowry death case.
A bench, comprising Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and K Vinod Chandran, on Monday dismissed the soldier’s plea for exemption from surrender during the pendency of his appeal.
The petitioner, convicted under Section 304B of the Indian Penal Code (dowry death), was sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment, a sentence already upheld by the High Court.
