Pak again resorts to unprovoked small arms fire along Kashmir LoC, Army responds

Srinagar, Apr 27 (UNI) For the third consecutive night, Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, Army sources said on Sunday.

The firing was reported from the Nowgam sector in Kupwara district and the Boniyar sector in Baramulla district, they said.

Army responded “effectively with appropriate small arms fire”.

“On the night of 26th-27th April 2025, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in the areas opposite Tutmari Gali and Rampur Sectors. Our troops responded effectively with appropriate small arms fire,” the Army sources said.

This is the third consecutive night when the Pakistan Army opened small arms fire at several locations along the volatile LoC.

The exchange of fire along the LoC comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 25 tourists and one local resident.

In wake of the Pahalgam attack, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visited Srinagar on Friday and reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
