Five choked to death due to asphyxia in UP

Bahraich (UP), Apr 25 (UNI) Five persons were choked to death due to asphyxia and three others taken ill due to smoke emitted by the dryer in a rice mill in Dargah area of Bahraich district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police sources said here.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognisance of the accident in Bahraich district. He has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased.
The CM has directed the district administration officials to immediately sent the injured to the hospital and to provide them proper treatment. Along with this, he has also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Police sources said that a sudden commotion broke out in a factory named Rajgarhia Food located in Dargah police station area on Friday morning when smoke suddenly started emitting out of the dryer. "On getting information about this, the people working in the factory fearing it to be a fire. Eight persons fell unconscious due to suffocation," they said.
Police sources said that all of them were immediately brought to the district hospital for treatment, where after examination, doctors declared five people dead, while the treatment of three is going on.
The deceased have been identified as Gaffar Ali (40), Bablu (28), Rajnesh Kumar (35), all residents of Gadvana Sourya of Kannauj, Zahoor (50), a resident of Sirsia of Shravasti and Bittu Shah (30), a resident of Bihariganj Madhepura of Bihar. "Sukhdev, Devi Prasad and Surendra Shukla are being treated in the emergency of the medical college," they said.
