Cong failed to curb terror due to appeasement politics: Vijayendra

Bengaluru, Apr 24 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Thursday hit out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress party over their remarks following the Pahalgam terror attack, alleging that the grand old party failed to curb terrorism during its decades in power due to its appeasement-driven politics.
Reacting to statements made by Siddaramaiah and Minister Priyank Kharge on the alleged intelligence failure, Vijayendra said, "Rather than pointing fingers at the Centre, I urge the honourable Chief Minister to introspect. The Congress ruled this country for more than 60 years but failed to eliminate terrorism. Their appeasement politics meant they never took terrorism seriously."
He said the Modi government has succeeded in restoring normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Article 370, and accused terrorist groups of trying to reverse that progress by targeting civilians. "The terrorist groups are clearly unhappy with this progress, which is why they targeted innocent tourists. Their aim is to derail the return to normal life in Jammu and Kashmir," Vijayendra said.
