Russian airstrikes kill 6 IS militants in Syrian desert

Damascus, Nov 20 (UNI) Six Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Monday during Russian airstrikes on IS positions in the Syrian desert region east of the central province of Homs, a war monitor reported.
The Russian airstrikes hit the IS positions in the desert of the al-Sukhneh area and the vicinity of the Dubaiat gas field in the eastern countryside of Homs, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Four pro-Syrian government fighters were killed in clashes with IS militants in ground clashes in the same region, the observatory added.
