Purvanchal expressway: 20 pc work done, main carriageway to be opened by 2020 end

Lucknow, Oct 30(UNI) Twenty per cent work on the Purvanchal expressway has been done and it is set to be completed by the end of 2020.
The 340.824 kilometer long 6 lane greenfield expressway which could be extended up to 8 lane, would be completed by the end of next year when the main carriageway would be opened for the vehicles, claimed Additional Chief Secretary and chief of the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Development Authority(UPEDA) Awanish Awasthi here on Wednesday.
He said that already 98 per cent of the required land has been acquired and rest would be done very soon. The companies have also competed mud work in 58 per cent of the expressway. "The construction companies have already constructed 34 underpass and 242 box culverts while work for major and minor bridges along with ROBs are underway in a faster pace," he said in a statement here.
