New 'Daredevil' series in the works by Disney and Marvel

Los Angeles, May 20 (UNI) Ever since Charlie Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock in “Spider Man: No Way Home”, excitement regarding the fate of 'Daredevil' in the MCU has been fever high. With fans clamouring to get Netflix’s 'Daredevil' back since 2018 it would seem that Disney has finally heard their cries as Disney and Marvel are officially working on a 'Daredevil' series to premiere on their own streaming service.
Whether the series will mark a continuation from the Netflix show or be the start of an altogether new Daredevil show is not fully known. The news however is being viewed with caution by most Daredevil fans for while the Netflix show was dark, moody, violent and was meant for adults, it is a common fear that Disney may end up ruining the whole show by making it too Disney-ish it and basically making it PG-13 with stupid jokes, minimal violence and a rainbows and ponies attitude, unlike the Netflix show which was the polar opposite of this.
Furthermore, Daredevil’s place in the MCU is unknown yet given that Marvel has been rapidly expanding its universe with multiple new features including introduction of new characters such as “Moon Knight”, “She Hulk” and “Ms. Marvel” while keeping them in the same continuum.
Season 1 showrunner Steven DeKnight offered his best wishes to Daredevil's next chapter and looks forward to seeing him succeed behind everyone involved with the show's revival: "I personally look forward to the next chapter in DD’s life and wish everyone involved the absolute best!"
Although DeKnight clarified that he's not available to work on the new series, but he wants the new crew to have the freedom to put their best work forward regardless: "I would but I’m currently unavailable for the next few years due to other commitments. Plus I want the new creative team to be free to do their thing!"
The showrunner responded to a fan anticipating that the new show won't be as good as DeKnight's work, hoping that the Disney+ outing will be even better than what came through on Netflix:"Not at all! As a lifelong fan of the character, I hope it's even BETTER than what we did on Netflix. Lord knows they'll have a much, much larger budget."
Although he has "bittersweet" feelings about not being involved with Daredevil going forward, he just wants to see Marvel and Disney put forth a great product that he can enjoy alongside the fans: "Bittersweet. But all I want is great Daredevil show I can watch with the rest of the fans!"
