J&K LG greets people on Raksha Bandhan

Srinagar, Aug 2 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG), Girish Chandra Murmu on Sunday extended his heartiest greetings to the people of J&K on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan which will be celebrated on Monday.
On Monday, the annual pilgrimage of Amarnath will come to an end in the south Kashmir Himalayas, when the Chhari Mubarak, holy Mace of Lord Shiva will be taken to holy cave shrine on the last day of the yatra. However, this year yatra was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic and Chhari will be taken by air to the holy cave.
In his message of greetings, the LG observed that Raksha Bandhan is a festival symbolic of love and respect between brothers and sisters which defines the unique feature of India’s cultural ethos.
