CWMA asks Karnataka to release Cauvery water to TN

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) The Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) on Monday dismissed Karnataka's submission that it was unable to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
The CWMA directed the Karnataka government to comply with its order to release 5,000 cusecs daily to Tamil Nadu for the next 15 days.
Karnataka government had expressed its inability to release 5,000 cusecs due to the drought situation in the Cauvery catchment area in the state and argued that it required water to protect its standing crop and provide drinking water to the people.
