ASSOCHAM to hold interactive session and B2B meetings

Hyderabad, Nov 20 (UNI) The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has announced a significant business event aimed at fostering international collaboration and expanding business horizons.

The interactive session and B2B meetings with a distinguished delegation from SOHAR Port and Freezone, Oman, are scheduled to take place at a private hotel here on November 23 and 24, a statement here said on Monday.

Themed 'Expanding Your Business in Global Markets,' the initiative will commence with an interactive session on the evening of 23 November, followed by B2B meetings on 23 and 24 November. The events are strategically designed to enlighten city-based industrialists about various business and investment opportunities in Oman and the Middle East. Participants will gain insights into the advantages and incentives offered by SOHAR Port and Freezone to foreign entities.

The primary focus of the event is to promote exports in key sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, Electronics, IT, Aerospace, Heavy Metal Fabrication, Precision Manufacturing, and Food Processing. Discussions will also highlight the strategic benefits of SOHAR in accessing U.S. markets and the potential it holds for Indian businesses to tap into global trade routes, targeting the GCC, Africa, and the U.S. markets.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one sessions with SOHAR’s dedicated Oman – U.S. FTA Advisor, Emmee Haun, for personalized insights and guidance.

Ravi Kumar Reddy Kataru, Chairman of ASSOCHAM Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Development Council and Managing Director of AXIS Energy Group, expressed his optimism about the initiative.

He emphasized Hyderabad's pivotal economic role in Southern India, particularly as a stronghold for the pharmaceutical industry and burgeoning sectors like Electronics, IT, Aerospace, and engineering. The session aims to provide valuable insights to Hyderabad's business community, unlocking untapped export potential through collaboration with SOHAR Port and Freezone.

Kataru stated, "Oman has undeniably become the preferred gateway for businesses in the Middle East region, eyeing Europe and Africa. Its strategic geographical positioning, coupled with a robustly growing economy and Free Trade Agreements with nations like the USA and Singapore, sets it apart. In the regional context, Oman's appeal surpasses even established hubs like Dubai or Saudi Arabia. Yet, a noticeable information gap persists in the Indian industry regarding Oman's working environment. This underscores the pressing need for a platform that fosters awareness. Our initiative seeks to enlighten Indian businesses about the myriad advantages of venturing into Oman, emphasizing the potential for symbiotic collaborations that benefit both nations."
