ZORO urges separate administration for ethnic Mizos

Aizawl, Mar 16(UNI) The Zo Reunification Organisation (ZORO) called for the creation of a separate administrative arrangement for ethnic Mizos living in the hill areas of conflict-hit Manipur.
The organisation, which advocates for the unification of ethnic Mizos across India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Minister, asserting that peaceful coexistence between the Meitei majority and ethnic Mizos has become impossible following the outbreak of ethnic violence on March 3, 2023. They argued that a separate administration is now the only feasible solution for ‘Zofate’ (ethnic Mizos) in Manipur.
ZORO also urged Shah to reinstate the Free Movement Regime (FMR), which was revoked by the central government on January 1 this year, requiring border passes for movement between India and Myanmar. The organisation emphasised that the decision has disrupted the traditional and cultural connections between indigenous communities on both sides of the border and appealed for its reconsideration.

ASI to suspends the repair work of Sri Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandars

Puri, Apr 26 (UNI) The ongoing repair and conservation work of both the Ratna Bhandaras(Temple Treasury ) of the Sri Jagannath temple would be suspended from April 27 to June 27 to observe several rituals of the presiding deities of the temple
