We're fighting a ideology which is destroying democracy: Cong leader Digvijay Singh

New Delhi, Sept 29 (UNI) Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Friday said the idea behind forming the I.N.D.I.A bloc is to fight against the ideology that is dividing India and destroying democracy.
“If we do not start fighting on the ground, it will not work. I.N.D.I.A alliance is because our fight is not against (Prime Minister Narendra) Modiji but against the ideology which divides India, which is destroying democracy,” Singh said.
Addressing media persons at the Jeetega INDIA national convention for Democracy, Secularism and Social Justice at Constitution Club in Delhi, Digvijay Singh said, “We have six months left for the elections, if we do not start fighting on the ground, it will not work. Why the I.N.D.I.A alliance? It is because our fight is not against Modiji but against the ideology which is dividing India and destroying democracy.”
Hitting out at the Prime Minister, Singh alleged that he seems to be “very worried” as he has started assaulting the I.N.D.I.A alliance. “They (BJP) are taught how to lie. Social media has given them a huge weapon to spread lies. How to counter this? INDIA Alliance needs to think about it,” said Singh.
Taking a dig at the BJP, political activist Yogendra Yadav accused the BJP of destroying democracy. “The ruling party is destroying democracy but now we have an alternative, I.N.D.I.A. We need to help I.N.D.I.A win,” Yadav said.
He said that 50 civil society organisations and 18 small political parties were not part of the I.N.D.I.A bloc have pledged their support to the alliance through the convention. Wherever such movements are going on in the country, "we are asking them to come and join".
“On October 2, we will begin the Jeetega INDIA, Banega Bharat campaign from Sevagram in Wardha and other locations as feasible. We resolve to mobilse at least 1.25 lakh active volunteers all over the country to work for this movement,” Yadav said.
INDIA bloc has taken up the challenge of defeating the BJP in five upcoming state assembly elections and the Lok Sabha polls scheduled for next year. UNI CM SSP
