Unseasonal rains in parts of Telangana cause heavy damage to paddy & other crops

Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI) Unseasonal rains in parts of Telangana on Sunday night and Monday morning caused heavy damage to paddy and other crops.
Paddy ready to be harvested and other farm produce kept at procurement centres suffered heavy damage owing to the rains accompanied by strong winds in several districts including in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Medak, Karimnagar and Rajanna Sircilla.
At several places farmers staged protests demanding that the government should compensate them for the crops damage.
