Hyderabad, Oct 5 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which was launched 21years back with a demand of separate state, now became a national party and changed into ‘ Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Announcing the launching of a national party, TRS Chief and Chief Minister K.Chandrsshekhar Rao (known as KCR) on Wednesday announced that the party’s general body’ meeting held at party office today, unanimously passed a resolution to change the name of the party from TRS to ‘ BRS.
The meeting attended by 283 party members including senior and top guns at Telangana Bhavan for rechristening TRS as BRS, also passed a resolution to merge TRS into a new party..
This resolution will be sent to the Election Commission of India soon.
The announcement was made in the presence of JD(s) member and Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy, along with 20 of his MLAs and two MPs belonging to Tamil Naudu’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi' (VCK) party including Dalit leader Thirumavalavan, along with a group of representatives, who attended at TRS party office.
