Tripura BJP serves notice to its VP for criticising ally TIPRA Motha founder

Agartala, April 25 (UNI) A day before the crucial election to Tripura East (tribal reserved) parliamentary constituency, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee on Thursday served a show-cause notice to the party’s Vice President Patal Kanya Jamatia for her adverse statement against TIPRA Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
Just a week ago the announcement of the poll schedule, TIPRA Motha – the second largest party of the state stitched an alliance with BJP after signing an agreement not to go for any agitation and movement but instead solve the issues of tribal empowerment amicably.
Accordingly, the BJP has sacrificed the Tripura East seat to Pradyot’s elder sister, Kriti Singh Debbarman from Chhattisgarh, where the election was to be held on Friday with BJP’s symbol.
