TN Rao calls for more rural bank branches

Hyderabad, June 19 (UNI) Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has emphasised the need to increase the number of bank branches in rural areas of the state.
Speaking at the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting held at a private hotel in Begumpet on Wednesday, the Minister highlighted the disparity between urban and rural banking facilities. "Telangana State is served by 6,415 bank branches, yet only 1,874 are in rural areas. This number needs to increase," he stated.
He commended the efforts to provide financial services in all villages of the Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected Bhadradri district to support the rural economy.
