Telangana urges union govt to reconsider it's decision to hike toll tax rates from Apr 1

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) Telangana government on Wednesday demanded that the Centre should immediately roll back the decision to hike toll tax rates from April 1 onwards.
In his letter addressed to Union National Highways Minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that "I have come to know that from April 1, the tax collected by the central government through 32 toll gates belonging to NHAI in Telangana state is going to be increased again. The current toll tax collection had already become a heavy burden on the people of Telangana,"
The Minister said that if the toll tax rates are increased again, it will be like "falling a palm fruit on a barking fox".
