Surrender application of Atiq's sister rejected

Prayagraj, June 5 (UNI) A local court here on Monday rejected the surrender application of slain politician-turned-mafia Atiq Ahmed's sister Ayesha Noori, who is accused of giving shelter to one of the shooters in advocate Umesh Pal murder case, a government counsel said here.
Government Counsel Gulab Chandra Agrahari said that the application was rejected by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Dinesh Gauatm as none of the counsel from Noori's side appeared before the court. He said that earlier also the court fixed June 5 as the next date of hearing as none of the counsel's from Noori side appeared before it.
It may be noted that the police had charged Ayesha Noori with providing shelter to Guddu Muslim, one of the shooters involved in the Umesh Pal murder case, after he was spotted inside her house in CCTV footage. Noori's husband Akhlaq had already been arrested by the police in this connection and is currently lodged in Naini jail.
