Sudhanshu Rai's sci-fi thriller Baida's first look unleashed

Mumbai, Jan 14 (UNI) The first look of the forthcoming supernatural sci-fi thriller "Baida" has been unfurled, provides a glimpse into the inscrutable world depicted in the film.

storyteller-filmmaker and director Puneet Sharma, who has crafted unique narratives such as "Chaipatti" and "Chintaa Mani", is helming the upcoming project.

Clocking in at 55 seconds, the YouTube teaser was aired on the channel named 'Kahanikar Sudhanshu'. The film is set to hit the Indian theatre on March 21.

Set in the Hindi-speaking belt of India, "Baida" explores uncharted territory as a supernatural sci-fi thriller, based on one of Rai's celebrated audio tales.

Detailing the film, director Puneet Sharma shared, “BAIDA is a tale of illusions, where the lead protagonist, played by Sudhanshu, traverses through different dimensions and timeframes. As he heads to a destination unknown, he meets someone delusive and then begins an experience that has never unfolded before the Indian audience before. A story about unimaginable worlds, BAIDA is two hours of pure entertainment, which can only be experienced on the big screen.”

Sudhanshu, who not only penned the script but also stars in the film, commented, “BAIDA fulfils my promise to my fans and listeners that they will soon get a never-seen-before cinematic experience of the fictional universe that I have created over the years.

"While it is the story of a former spy entrapped in the dark and sinister world of a man who defies the cycle of time and death, a special treat in store is the on-screen debut of Dr Shekhawat, a character loved by all my listeners. We hope the audience will love the unique and illusionary world of BAIDA,” he added.

The film boasts of a stellar ensemble cast of ‘Chaipatti’ fame - Shobhit Sujay, Detective Boomrah’s Manisha Rai, Tarun Khanna, Sourabh Raaj Jain, Hiten Tejwani, Akhlaq Ahmad Azad and Pradeep Kabra, among others. UNI XC SSP
