Social worker and petitioner against rename of Aurangabad city in poll fray

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nov 8 (UNI) Mohammed Hisham Osmani, social worker who had moved court against renaming of Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is contesting the Maharashtra Assembly election from the Aurangabad Central seat as an Independent.
It may be noted that,Osmani, a former congress district city unit president, resigned from his post in protest against Congress supporting the renaming of the historic city of Aurangabad during the rule of the Uddhav Thackeray led MVA government.
Osmani had knocked on the doors of the Mumbai high court and then appeal before the Supreme Court on the issue.
