New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Visiting Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam today met with a host of central ministers and BJP leaders including JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari and Piyush Goyal.
In posts on X, the Ministers tweeted about the meeting.
JP Nadda, the BJP President and Union Minister of Health, posted on X that he met with the Singaporean President as part of the Know BJP initiative, and the two sides had an insightful discussion on strengthening party-to-party ties.
“Met with H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore, as part of the #KNOWBJP initiative.
“We had an insightful discussion on strengthening party-to-party ties and key healthcare initiatives for children and women. Our interaction focused on advancing India-Singapore relations. Looking forward to continued cooperation and mutual progress.”
Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said he shared with the Singaporean side on India’s advancements in clean transportation, and road infrastructure.
“Delighted to meet the President of Singapore, Mr. @Tharman_S, once again. I shared with him India’s recent advancements in clean transportation, energy transition, and road infrastructure.
“We agreed to explore further collaboration in sustainable aviation fuel, green hydrogen, and ammonia. His vision and foresight continue to be truly inspiring.”
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India values its comprehensive strategic partnership with Singapore.
“Honoured to meet with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Singapore @Tharman_S
“India values its comprehensive strategic partnership with Singapore. This visit by the President will strengthen our bilateral relationship which marks its 60th anniversary.
“Accompanying the President is Mr Chee Hong Tat, Second Minister for Finance and Minister for Transport.”
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said the two sides discussed enhancing the bilateral ties across diverse sectors.
