Ayodhya, Dec 22 (UNI) The Ram Temple movement at Ayodhya is again in the news. Two trucks loaded with stones arrived at Karsewak Puram, the local Vishwa Hindu Parishad headquarters, here yesterday. Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas head Mahant Nritya Gopal Das did 'shila pujan' (worship of stones), VHP spokesman Sharad Sharma said here. VHP had announced in June this year to collect stones from across the country for the temple construction. However, Uttar Pradesh government had said then that it would not allow any stones to enter Ayodhya since the case is pending in Supreme Court. Mahant Das said stones will continue to arrive and added that they have indications from the Modi government that the temple would now be built. "As of now, stones have been kept in private premises. But if this leads to any tension we will take action," Faizabad SSP Mohit Gupta said. However, Principal Secretary (Home), Devashish Panda, had earlier said that the state government would not allow arrival of stones in Ayodhya for Ram Mandir. “Since the matter is sub judice, the government will not allow starting of any new tradition regarding Ayodhya issue,” he had said. About 2.25 lakh cubic ft of stones are required for the temple construction. An estimated 1.25 lakh cubic ft of stones are ready at the VHP’s headquarters in Ayodhya. The rest would be collected nationwide from Hindu devotees. UNI MB DJK RP1840
