Punjab official nabbed for seeking Rs 90,000 bribe

Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Tuesday apprehended Amandeep Gupta, Inspector, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Punjab for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 90,000.
A state VB spokesperson said here that the accused has been arrested following a complaint lodged by Jarnail Singh of Diamond Tower, Kharar, SAS Nagar district on the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Action Line.
The complainant alleged that the accused has been demanding a bribe of Rs 90,000 in lieu of renewal of licence and change of ownership of the brickkiln purchased by him. The complainant further added that earlier Chaman Gupta, the then Inspector, Food & Civil (F&C) Supplies, Rupnagar had taken Rs 30,000 from him and
