Lucknow, Feb 17 (UNI) The 18th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh has taken a unique initiative before the budget session in which now the proceedings of the House can be heard in Hindi as well as Awadhi, Braj, Bhojpuri, Bundeli, and English languages.
Speaker Satish Mahana said that this is the first experiment of its kind in any assembly of the country, which aims to connect the common citizens of the state, especially the people of the rural areas, more with the democratic process.
He said that UP is a vast and diverse state, where different regions have their specific dialects and languages. "In such a situation, the Legislative Assembly of the state needed to establish maximum connection with its people," he said.
