Over 20 juveniles arrested in Australia's Queensland amid youth crime crackdown

Canberra, Apr 19 (UNI) Australian police reported on Friday that a three-week operation targeting high-risk juvenile offending recently concluded in Queensland's Gold Coast, with more than 20 young people apprehended and charged.
A specialist taskforce was deployed between March 25 and April 14 to the Gold Coast, arresting 23 young people on 92 charges and three adults on 12 offenses.
During their operation, the specialists also assisted in investigations after a 16-year-old girl was assaulted by a group of youths in Surfers Paradise on April 6 and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
