Odisha: Nine People held for attacking forest patrolling team

Kendrapara, Jan 14 (UNI) The Talachua Marine police on Tuesday arrested nine people for their involvement in firing bullets and attacking a forest patrolling team engaged in Olive Ridley sea turtle conservation.
The arrests were made based on an FIR lodged by Suresh Chandra Prusty, a forester of the Ekakula Section under the Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary.
Prusty alleged that while forest personnel were conducting sea patrolling under “Operation Olivia” to create a safe environment for the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles, they apprehended nine fishermen fishing in a designated no-fishing zone on Sunday.
