Odisha CM Majhi orders high level probe into fire in hospital, nursing home

Bhuabenswar, July 13 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grave concern over the fire mishap in Radha Raman hospital which was later spread to a private nursing home in Cuttack on Saturday.
Majhi directed the Health Secretary and Cuttack District Collector to provide best of the treatment to the patients evacuated from the Hospital and Nursing Home to other hospitals.
The Chief Minister announced that the state government will bear the medical treatment expenses of all the patients rescued from the hospital and Nursing Home.
He ordered a high level probe into the incident and directed the DG Fire Services to strictly follow all the fire safety measures in the hospitals and other establishments.
Fire broke out in the ICU of Radha Raman Hospital located at the Puri ghat police station area in Cuttack in the afternoon due to a short circuit which later spread to Trisha Nursing Home where over 25 babies were undergoing treatment.
At least three fire tenders were pressed to extinguish the blaze. About 12 ICU patients of Radha Raman Hospital besides 25 babies undergoing treatment in the Trisha Nursing Home when the mishap took place, were evacuated by the fire service personnel and admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital and Sishu Bhawan.
