Turkish Ombudsman to visit prisoners of war in Russia, Ukraine - Reports

Istanbul, Mar 25 (UNI) Turkish Ombudsman Seref Malkoc will visit Russia and Ukraine this week to meet with prisoners of war and assess their detention conditions and the observance of their rights, Turkish newspaper Sabah reported on Monday.
Malkoc told the newspaper that he would visit the combat zones, the city of Odesa and meet with "displaced families who had to leave their homes due to the war, and with the families of Ukrainian soldiers who were captured by Russia." A meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also planned, the ombudsman added.
A similar visit to prisoner-of-war camps in Russia is then planned, as well as talks between Malkoc and his Russian counterparts, the newspaper reported.
