Maha BJP vice-prez takes dig at MPCC chief

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP vice-president Madhav Bhandari on Tuesday scoffed at Congress state president Nana Patole over his recent remark about Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee's alleged alliance with Muslim League in Bengal province.
Taking a strong objection to Patole's observation, he clarified in a press release that historically, Dr Mukherjee had formed an alliance not with the Muslim League but with the Fazlul Haq Krishak Praja Party and with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's Forward Bloc to prevent the Congress-Muslim League from coming to power.
The Bengal cabinet, that Patole had spoken of, was not a Muslim League government, he reiterated and said that the Chief Minister of that government was Fazlul Haque of Krishak Praja Party.
