Senior leader Eknath Khadse to rejoin BJP

Senior leader Eknath Khadse to rejoin BJP

Mumbai, April 7 (UNI) A senior former leader of BJP, Eknath Khadse, from the Khandesh region of the state, who broke 40 years of ties and joined the NCP, is once again rejoining BJP in a couple of days. Khadse himself confirmed this development on Saturday.
Khadse discussed this with the top brass leadership of the BJP in Delhi recently.
Khadse, who was a minister in the previous Devendra Fadnavis government, resigned from the ministerial post in 2016 over a land deal case.
Khadse left the party and joined the undivided Nationalist Congress Party about three years ago after having differences with the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra.
After a long wait, the undivided Nationalist Congress Party, led by Sharad Pawar, made him its member of the assembly council in 2022.
Khadse said he had to leave the party due to some developments.
Khadse, who was once among the top BJP leaders in Maharashtra, said, "I am returning to the BJP. I contacted the central leadership of the BJP and expressed my desire to return to the party.
According to media reports, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar wanted to field Legislative Council member Khadse from the Raver seat against his daughter-in-law, Raksha Khadse, which he refused.
Khadse's return to the party will strengthen the BJP in North Maharashtra, while it will be a big setback for Pawar.
