Provision of 2,15, 850 ink bottles for 48 LS seats in Maha

Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) About 2,15,850 ink bottles will be required in Maharashtra to apply ink to the left index finger of the voters during the polling for 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state
A EC statement said that, there are 98,114 polling stations in the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state.
Around 1,96,228 ink bottles, with 2 ink bottles each for each polling station has been arranged.
Apart from 1,96,228 ink bottles, a total of 2,15,850 ink bottles, which is 10 percent more, as well as the materials required for voting.
As many as 9,24,91,806 voters will exercise their franchise in the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies.
A demand for about 2,15,850 ink bottles has been registered through the Election Commission for applying ink to the left index finger of these voters.
All these bottles have been received by the state and handed over to the collectors.
This ink, which is applied to the voter's index finger and remain for a few days, is manufactured by the Mysore Paints Company.
The inked index finger of the left hand is proudly displayed by commoners, public representatives, or celebrities as a sign of exercising the right to vote. This black ink that strengthens democracy has become an integral part of elections, the statement added.

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) Strict action will be taken by the government to curb malpractices for creating 'Deep fake' videos, clips, photos or other content during the Lok Sabha elections and circulating it through social media / digital media.
According to the official press statement issued here on Friday, it stated that 'Deep Fake' videos, clips, photos or other types of content are created by exploiting various techniques such as Photoshop, Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI). Misuse of this technique during elections is a matter of concern.
