With no New Year celebrations at public places, Mumbai greets 2022 with COVID arms wide open

The order is in force from 1300 hours on Friday and will remain in force till January 15, unless withdrawn earlier.
DCP (operations) S Chaitanya had issued the prohibitory order with an aim to prevent danger to human life, health and safety and to curb transmission of the virus, it said.
"With a view to prevent danger to human life, health or safety, and to curtail the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, I do hereby prohibit any person from visiting beaches, open grounds, sea faces, promenades, gardens, parks or similar public places, from 5 PM to next day 5 AM," DCP (operations) S Chaitanya said in the order.
