Raducanu withdraws from Australian Open warm-up tournament

Melbourne, Jan 1 (UNI) British tennis player Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the Australian Open warm-up tournament in Melbourne on Saturday.
The 2021 US Open champion was set to compete in the WTA 250 tournament Melbourne Summer Set, which is scheduled between January 4 to 9.
"The timing to compete in the first Melbourne event this week is too soon for me, having just returned from isolation," Raducanu told the organizers.
The 19-year-old had only recently came out of isolation after contracting Covid-19 in Abu Dhabi before Christmas.
Raducanu is in Australia for the first of the four Grand Slam events Australian Open, which will take place at Melbourne Park from January 17 to 30.
