SCR achieves 100 pc electrification of erstwhile BG rail network in Nanded Division

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) In a significant stride towards Mission Electrification, South Central Railway (SCR) has successfully electrified its entire broad gauge (BG) railway lines across its network, demonstrating a committed effort towards modernization.
As part of this initiative, the Manmad – Mudkhed – Dhone project has been accomplished by the Zone, marking a pivotal milestone. The final non-electrified railway line between Mirkhal–Maltekdi, spanning a distance of 43.3 route kilometres, has been electrified under this project.
With the completion of this final stretch, totalling 934 route kilometres, the Nanded Division in Maharashtra state has achieved the remarkable feat of 100 per cent electrification of its erstwhile Broad Gauge rail lines, excluding those recently converted from meter gauge, a SCR statement said on Friday.
