Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Telangana Chief Secretary (CS) Santhi Kumari has instructed officials to rigorously enforce the model code of conduct (MCC) to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections in the state.
During a meeting with officials on Monday, the CS reviewed the implementation of the MCC, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order, setting up check posts, and providing daily seizure reports, as stated in a release.
The Chief Secretary directed officials to enhance surveillance at Begumpet airport and Shamshabad. Additionally, she instructed them to observe dry days in border districts during elections in neighboring states, following Election Commission guidelines. She also urged forest department officials to identify clandestine routes used by smugglers in forests to increase surveillance and aid in seizures.
