Siddaramaiah rubbishes BJP claims of K'taka govt falling after LS polls

Kolar, Apr 7 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday dismissed the BJP's claims that the state government will collapse after the Lok Sabha elections.

He stated that the government has a mandate for five years and expressed confidence that their schemes will continue uninterrupted.
Siddaramaiah stressed the electoral performance of the Congress in the previous elections, stating that they secured a significant vote share and won a considerable number of seats.

"We won 136 seats, which is 43 percent of the vote share. BJP got only 36 percent. We are 7 percent ahead compared to them. They have only 64 seats. The JDS have 19 MLAs, and many will join Congress soon. People have given us five years and our schemes will continue for 5 years without any hurdle," he told reporters here.
Siddaramaiah also hinted at potential defections from the JDS to the Congress, bolstering their position further.
On the other hand, the BJP, led by R Ashoka, the leader of the opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, has criticised the state government, alleging financial mismanagement and bankruptcy.

Ashoka expressed confidence in the BJP's prospects in the upcoming elections, asserting that only the guarantee provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds weight.
With Karnataka set to vote in two phases on April 26 and May 7, the political rhetoric is expected to intensify further. The outcome of these elections will determine the balance of power in the state and could have implications for the stability of the current government.
