Shivakumar flays Kumaraswamy for accompanying BJP leaders to Vokkaliga pontiff

Bengaluru, April 10 (UNI) In a development indicative of escalating tensions ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday criticised JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy for accompanying BJP leaders, who were implicated in the downfall of the previous Congress-JDS coalition administration, to meet a significant pontiff from the Vokkaliga community.
Shivakumar, who also serves as the state Congress President, stated that the JDS would face defeat in all four seats it claims to be contesting, including Bangalore Rural, where HD Deve Gowda's son-in-law and prominent cardiologist Dr CN Manjunath is being fielded on a BJP ticket.
In response to Shivakumar's assertions, Kumaraswamy sharply denied misusing the math or Swamiji for political purposes.
