Ex-Karnataka CM Bommai challenges Rahul Gandhi to disclose 'benami assets'

Ex-Karnataka CM Bommai challenges Rahul Gandhi to disclose 'benami assets'

Gadag, April 25 (UNI) In a fiery campaign speech at Gajendragad in Gadag district late on Wednesday night, former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP candidate from the Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency Basavaraj Bommai challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to disclose and distribute his alleged "benami assets" before proposing the redistribution of the nation’s property.
Bommai accused the Congress party of deceit and questioned its leadership’s integrity and commitment to the nation's welfare.
Mocking the uncertainty within the INDIA Alliance over its Prime Ministerial candidate, the former CM ridiculed various leaders’ claims to the PM post, including Mamata Banerjee, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharad Pawar, and Lalu Prasad Yadav's aspirations.
He drew parallels between Rahul Gandhi's reluctance to pursue the role of Prime Minister and a son refusing marriage, suggesting a lack of ambition within the Congress leadership.
Bommai further lambasted the Congress party as being built on lies and deceit, predicting its demise if Narendra Modi were to become Prime Minister for the third time. He also questioned AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge's authority to issue guarantee cards, dismissing their value.
Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication and achievements, the senior BJP leader praised the former's efforts to uplift the poor and provide essential services, including vaccines, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He urged voters to support the BJP as a gesture of gratitude towards Modi for his initiatives in providing water, rice, and other essential resources to households across the country.
Karnataka's 28 Lok Sabha seats are at stake in the upcoming elections on April 26 and May 7. The BJP, aiming to maintain its dominant position after winning 25 out of 28 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to secure victory once again.
