Bommai hints at resolving border row via talks

Bengaluru, Nov 24 (UNI) "I have an information that there is a thinking of resolving the border imbroglio through talks," Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said reacting to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis holding a meeting on the issue pending before the Supreme Court.
The CM said an all-party meeting has been convened next week to discuss in detail the Maharashtra government's intentions to resolve the border row amicably through talks, and other important issues.
"The border dispute is over but Maharashtra is raking up this row. The resolution of gram panchayat and other related issues are with us. All these will be debated in the Supreme Court," he said.
Bommai said all preparations have been made to present Karnataka's argument before the apex court over the border dispute and has a strong base in the case.
"Already, Maharashtra has filed a case in the Supreme Court. The Karnataka Government has held an all-party meeting on its course of argument in the Supreme Court as well as discussed with the Border Development Authority. In the wake of this, the government has taken a decision to present its case before the Supreme Court," he said.
