BJP petitions EC to prevent Cong from distributing guarantee cards

Bengaluru, Apr 11 (UNI) Signalling a significant concern regarding electoral ethics and fair campaigning practices, the Karnataka BJP on Thursday appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prevent the distribution of Congress party's guarantee cards, signed by Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
BJP contended that the distribution of these cards, also adorned with a QR code, could confer an undue advantage to the Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka.
Additionally, the BJP objected to the collection of personal voter details, purportedly facilitated by these cards. This, BJP said constitutes a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
