Boy suffer bullet injury on head while playing near CISF shooting range

Pudukottai, Dec 30 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a 11-year-old boy was critically injured, when a stray bullet allegedly fired by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel during a shooting practise session hit him on the head at Ammachathiram village near Narthamalai in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
Police sources said a practice session was going on for CISF trainees at the shooting range, when the stray bullet fired from a rifle hit the boy, K. Pughazhendi, when he was reportedly playing near his grandfather's house, located close to the shooting range. The bullet pierced through the boy's head.
The boy was rushed to Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.
