Development model of Lucknow realising dream of Atalji: Yogi

Lucknow, March 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the model of development that Lucknow represents today realises the dream of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Addressing an event organised at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the Chief Minister said the 104-kilometre-long and 8-lane Lucknow Outer Ring Road, also known as Kisan Path, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Gurugram, would solve the problem of traffic jam in Lucknow.
He said, "In addition, the Green Corridor being built by Lucknow Development Authority, which will connect Shaheed Path via the cut near Gomti River, is set to ease traffic congestion even further."
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 206 development projects worth Rs 3,666 crore.
Meanwhile, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 112 National Highway projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore extended across the country at the main programme organised in Gurugram (Haryana). The projects included among others inauguration of three packages of Kisan Path, built at the cost of Rs 5,500 crore in the state.
The Kisan Path will streamline travel for commuters heading to Barabanki, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Sitapur, Gonda, Hardoi, Kanpur, Varanasi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur and other districts, eliminating the necessity of passing through Lucknow to reach these destinations.
The travellers will reach their destinations directly, bypassing Lucknow. Besides, it will ease traffic congestion in Lucknow.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogi said that the first phase work of the Green Corridor was completed on Monday. He said that with the help of the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO), the Defence Ministry is also inaugurating the BrahMos Missile Centre in Lucknow, which will open up new avenues for startups and employment opportunities for the youth.
While giving credit to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for the development works in Lucknow, the Chief Minister said, "The inauguration of Forensic Research Institute and Atal Medical University is also scheduled for inauguration on Monday in Lucknow," he said.
