BJP-NDA is fully prepared to contest  elections: PM Modi

New Delhi, March 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed the announcement of the schedule for the General election 2024 by the Election Commission of India on Saturday and said "BJP-NDA is fully prepared to contest these elections".
In a series of social media posts on "X",Modi said, "On the basis of our track record of good governance and public service, we will go among the people".
He further added that , "The biggest festival of democracy has started. The Election Commission has announced the dates of 2024 Lok Sabha elections. BJP-NDA is fully prepared to contest these elections".
The Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the party will get full "affection and blessings" of 140 crore family members and more than 96 crore voters for the third consecutive time.
The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the general election in New Delhi , which will begin on 19 April in 7 phases. The counting of votes will take place on 4 June.
"I can clearly see that the coming five years will be about our collective resolve of establishing the roadmap that will guide our trajectory as a nation for the next thousand years and make India the embodiment of prosperity, all-round growth and global leadership" PM wrote on X.
He said, I derive great strength from people’s blessings, especially the poor, our farmers, Yuva and Nari Shakti".
"When they say ‘मैं हूँ मोदी का परिवार’, ( 'I am Modi's family') it fills me with joy and makes me work harder to build a Viksit Bharat. This is THE era to make it happen and together we will! यही समय है सही समय है! ("This is the right time!”) Modi further said.
According to CEC Rajiv Kumar, there are 96.8 crore people who are eligible to cast vote, of which, approximately 47.15 crore are women.
Expressing confidence that NDA will win 400 seats, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "This time under the leadership of Modi ji, NDA is going into the elections with the slogan of 'crossing 400'.
I have full confidence that this time the public will vote to achieve the target of 400 and build a developed and safe India".
Shah also appealed to the youth and women to participate in this "great festival of democracy" by voting in maximum numbers.
"To maintain the pace of India's development journey, cast your vote for a leadership who has a track record of work and a vision to make India developed", he said on X.
Reiterating the same sentiments, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "In this elections, BJP aims to win 370 seats and its resolve to take NDA beyond 400. This has filled the party workers across the country with new energy".
"For us, this election is not just a symbol of gaining power, but also an expression of our dedication and capability to work towards the resolve of building a developed India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modiji" he wrote on X.
BJP President JP Nadda welcomed the announcement of the polls' dates and said, "Elections are the biggest festival of democracy. They are a medium to keep the country and the state moving on the path of development and good governance".
"I urge the people of the entire nation to come out in record numbers to vote and strengthen the foundation of the world's largest democracy" he said.
