Monumental National Flag to be displayed at Longewala on Army Day

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) The Monumental National Flag, which is the world’s largest national flag made of Khadi fabric, will be put to a grand public display along the India – Pakistan Border in Jaisalmer to celebrate “Army Day” on Saturday, an official statement said.

The Monumental National Flag will be displayed at Longewala which was the center stage of the historic battle between India and Pakistan in 1971.

Delhi increases DA for skilled, unskilled workforce

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Delhi Government on Friday revised the dearness allowance (DA) for labourers raising it to Rs 16,506 from Rs 16,064 for unskilled labourers while the monthly wages for the semi-skilled workforce have been increased to Rs 18,187 from Rs 17,693 set earlier.

NHRC asks Centre, Arunachal govt to examine compliance of SC order on Chakma-Hajong citizenship

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Centre and Arunachal Pradesh government to examine the compliance of order passed by the Supreme Court in 2015 to confer citizenship to the Chakmas and Hajongs within three months, and do the needful in case any part of the order of the Apex Court still remains "uncomplied' and inform the Commission within two months, Suhas Chakma, founder of Chakma Development Foundation of India (CDFI) on Friday claimed.
He informed that the direction from the NHRC came after the CDFI and Chakma and Hajong Elders’ Forum of Arunachal Pradesh (CHEF) filed a joint complaint with the Commission on March 22 stating that the 1996 and 2015 judgments of the Apex Court were not complied with as on date and not a single citizenship application out of the 4,637 applications submitted during 1997-2003 has been determined.
