New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech immediately after the Balakot air strikes, Bollywood melody queen Lata Mangeshkar has paid a moving tribute to Indian soldiers through a song titled ‘Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki’.
Lata posted the song on her official twitter account.
Taking to twitter, the Indian Nightingale said,’’some days ago I was listening to a speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he recited some lines of a poem which I think reflected the feelings of every Indian.
The lines of the poem touched my heart. I have recorded that poem in the form of a song. Today I dedicate the song to the brave soldiers of the country and to the people of the country.’’
The song was uploaded by the Melody queen on her twitter account.
Lauding the gesture by Lata Mangeshkar, PM Modi said he is inspired by her affection for the jawans that was reflected in the song.
In his speech following the Balakot air strikes, the PM, while addressing a gathering at Churu in Rajasthan, said,’’Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki, Mein Desh nahin Mitne Doonga, Main Desh nahin Jhukne Doonga’ (I swear by my motherland, I will not let this country down’).
After reciting the poem, he said he wanted to assure the countrymen that the nation is in secure hands.
"Main aap ko sunischit karna chahta hun ki desh surakshit haathon main hai (I want to tell you that the country is in secure hands)," he said, as chants of Modi, Modi, Modi echoed the venue.
